Senior Inventory Coordinator (Contract)

Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Inventory Strategy and Operations, the Senior Inventory Coordinator oversees all inbound and outbound inventory of a large-scale diaper access initiative across California. Ensures accurate tracking, stocking, and storage of all items by our third-party partner in Rancho Dominguez, CA.

This role will operate out of our Distribution Center, currently in Van Nuys, CA.  The Distribution Center will be moving to a new space in Vernon, CA later this year.  This role may also work out of our other facilities as needed. These include, but are not limited to, Baby2Baby locations in Culver City and Santa Monica, CA.  This role is onsite 5 days a week in both office and warehouse settings.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Coordination

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for on-site teams at the 3PL warehouse dedicated to this initiative.
  • Notifies warehouse partners of inbound shipments, confirms receipt, and ensures accurate inventory intake.
  • Submits and manages outbound orders from the 3PL, communicating order priorities, answering questions, and ensuring timely processing.

Program Collaboration

  • Shares inbound inventory updates with the Head of Inventory Strategy and Operations and Program team.
  • Communicates regularly with the diaper program’s various teams regarding order priorities, timelines, and other logistics needs.
  • Provides detailed inventory reports for internal stakeholders and cross-departmental use.

Inventory Management

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Enters data and performs clerical tasks related to ordering, receiving, and storing inventory using a digital warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Coordinates with the Inventory Manager to process and track stock transfers between warehouse sites.
  • Maintains weekly and monthly inventory reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Identifies and reports inventory discrepancies and assists Warehouse Management in resolving them.
  • Keeps accurate daily/weekly logs of items and pallet totals received, stored, and distributed.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of warehouse experience and at least two (2) years of 3PL experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficient in computer use, including data entry and inventory/warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform high-level calculations.
  • Solid understanding of inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Capable of navigating warehouse environments and retrieving items from varying heights.

Salary

This role’s salary range is between $24 – $30/hr. Actual salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
